If we receive your application and it is not filled out correctly, this will result in delayed processing time (we will need to contact you and obtain a completed application).
State and/or Federal background checks may take up to thirty (30) days to process. The results are obtained from the appropriate Agency (BCI, FDLE, FBI, etc.) and forwarded to the appropriate recipient(s).
Same day service is available for an additional $50.00 fee. If we do not receive your same day service request before 2pm est., you will receive same day service on the next business day. Same day service processing requires you to have your results returned either electronic only, USPS standard shipping and an electronic copy (additional $10.00 fee), or UPS expedited shipping only.
The cost is $20. No refunds are given after fingerprints are captured.
You can inquire at the facility doing the fingerprinting (i.e. FastFingerprints), or you can print the fingerprint card from our website (click here) onto standard white printer paper and have the official print you directly onto the paper.
No. The most important aspects of your fingerprint cards are the formatting of the fingerprint themselves. Including: the clarity of the whorls and loops on your fingerprints, using the most current version of the FD-258 fingerprint cards, and your cards are signed by you and the authorized official who conducted the fingerprinting.
We recommend that you wash your hands with soap and water before visiting. If you experience moist hands, we recommend that you wipe each finger with rubbing alcohol before being fingerprinted. If you experience dry skin, then we recommend you use a cocoa butter or Vitamin E based lotion for several days before fingerprinting, to hydrate and heal your skin for the best possible fingerprints. If your are having trouble with defining the ridges of your fingerprints then we recommend that you use a “Ridge Builder” which is a commercial product that can be used instead of lotion.
We strongly recommend that you send two cards. We will accept one fingerprint card, but if your fingerprints are rejected by the FBI (due to poor quality), we can scan a second card if we have one. If we do not, we will need to contact you to send one and wait until we have received it, delaying the process. If you are not in a rush, this may not be a factor. If, however, you are in a rush, you may want us to already have the 2nd card to scan.
No, we cannot, but your results can be apostilled. Our results are FBI authenticated documents (which means they contain the FBI’s seal, section chief’s signature, and come to us in the required PDF format directly from the FBI). The link to the U.S. Department of State is on our website.
No, we cannot; the results must be mailed back to you, the applicant within the United States or its territories.
The only instance in which you can have results sent “c/o” to someone else is to your attorney. In this case, your attorney would need to submit a request to us on their letterhead, with both yours and your attorney’s signatures on the same document, along with the application, fingerprints, and payment.
No. Your results will only be sent to the address indicated on your FBI Criminal Report Request form and must be within the United States or its territories.
No. Each person must have their own separate email. Sending in more than 1 application with the same email will delay the processing of your application, and require NBCI to reach out to you for a revised application.
You will need to restart the process and pay an additional $35 fee.
Can I use an international cell phone number to retrieve the security pin for my electronic results?
No, it must be a U.S. cell phone number.
